Thinking about a way to satisfy you all…KS MENU

Hi guys…I decided that ks menu would have been okay for all of you (I also added a default folder in menu so that tapping problem is gone) but it seems like many of you don’t like the ks menu…

The problem is I don’t know how to implement this…KS MENU has to do with localization files and system files…
so I should make 2 versions of base rom, and two versions for each localization pack…everything gets doubled..

I can’t use a flash patch because I am already using it for localizations (and I think this has been a great idea)

let me know if you have any idea about it…

and why do you prefer no ks menu…

PS the default theme will be modded precision (liamstears added some icons, I changed the background to black–>energy saving)

  1. First when I started using ks menu, it was quite inconvenient indeed, but then as time passed I got to like it and now I don’t think it should be left out. It is of course just my opinion, why should you work twice? Keep up the good work!

    And don’t forget one thing, Hungary loves you so much, your name is on everyone’s lips! As for the members of the Hungarian i8910 at least! 🙂

  4. It’s basically a simple choice:
    1. Keep samsung custom 4 bottom icons without menu rotations and KS
    2. Switch to ugly 2 huge bottom buttons but gain menu rotation and KS

    I opted for menu rotation once and I already made my habits and can live without having 4 bottom icons in menus… I would stick with menu rotation and KS.

  5. no ks menu
    the 4 menu button at the bottom is the thing that differentiate the menu from nokia and samsung (correct me if im wrong)
    if the ks can be used with 4 menu button then i will choose ks

    why do you need those icons so much?

  7. i really like the 4 buttons (during a phone call i can easily reach my contacts by pressing the menu key – that’s the only reason) and don’t really need a ks-menu, BUT
    i haven’t had any problems with the ks-menu in n2o2 and got used to it (now i hold the menu for the taskman while looking for a contact during a phone call and then just go to “desktop” to reach my contacts).
    once again, don’t double your work just because a few negative opinions, everyone ca also stick with this solution. if some of us don’t the they should use another firmware…to be honest no one will do…and maybe one day there will be the solution for ks menu with 4 buttons.
    summing up keep up the good work and just finish it! ks is no bug and makes no problems!

  9. I like those two icons in the bottom of the menu so if you are gonna remove KS Menu then make a patch like liam did to get those two icons in the bottom of the menu with KS Ask Liamstears about it

    Please please please keep those Two menu icons with KS Menu

    he used a flash patch, and as I said in the post, I can’t do that, because I already use flash patches for a WAY BETTER purpose 🙂

    KS menu will be kept though 😉

  11. why a ks menu is needed?for nothin for me personally.and i like those 4 buttons in the botom.looks very nice with em.im very srry bro but if the ks menu remain i wont flash the new fw.it is really usefull the ks menu.

  13. look at htc or apple.they look so hi-tech with their interface.why we should make ugly our phone,when you changed those 4 buttons icons so nice.it really looks better with em,this is the true.those 2huge buttons from ks menu,make the phone ugly and so simple…really bro,please satisfy all of us with this problem.ty in advance

    sorry man I don’t think it is worth the time and effort it needs…I have to study a lot in the next days, I haven’t got time to work on these little things…
    hope you’ll get used to the two icons…

  14. fai come vuoi io la n2o3 la istallo a prescindere perchè sei il migliore,anche se il ks menu non mi piace,giusto per i tasti in basso che vengono sostituiti da quei 2 tasti “grossi” e poi ho sentito dire che il touch col ks risponde male ai lati…

  17. I haven’t used the KS menu with the two buttons but I can probably live with it.
    So just use the KS menu and set your ROM free into the world. 😉

  18. It’s your fault faenil, you made the four icon’s look so attractive we don’t want to loose them. 😆

    But I have now got used to the KS & think that’s the way to go. Also you have more important thing’s to do than creating two version’s of your new firmware.

    I’m sure we will be more than happy with whatever you produce. 🙂

  19. Faenil nn mettere il ks nel menu!!!!! le icone come tu ben sai sono meno reattive ad aprirsi e poi il menu senza le 4 icone colorate sotto è orrendo!!! se proprio vuoi rilascia una rom con ks nel menu e una rom senza!!!

    per me è anche inutile nel menu il ks….. quindi nn lo mettereeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeee 🙁

    PS.oppure rilascia prima una versione senza ks nel menu cosi tutti la testiamo benissimo…poi sicuramente fixerai qualcosa e quando nn ci sono piu bag ne fai uscire una col ks nel menu

    mi dispiace devo iniziare a studiare, non ci sarà più tempo…
    sappi che ho inserito una cartella di default nel menu —> niente problemi a premere le icone 😛
    sono sicuro che una volta provata la n2o3 nessuno rinuncerà al ks menu 😉

I will tell you why no KS in menu 🙂 because I dont need it, there isnt so much icons in folders that I have to scroll down…and we have glass capacitive display and there is no problem to scroll with bar on right side…like I have wrotten down elsewhere I had your ROM with KS in menu but I change it for ROM without KS in menu… Im satisfied wid KS in other parts of system thank you that you made ROM without it…so my suggestion is KS in menu is good for my coleague that have N5800 XM but we dont need it 🙂

    default will be precision modded theme 😉 (it’s fast and I like it 🙂

  24. Volevo intendere cosa cambia in questa rom rispetto alla n2o2. Se, montando la n2o2, vale la pena flashare per la nuova. 🙂

  26. i prefer the theme without KS in menu, beceause i like the 4 shortcuts in the bottom of the screen. :X hope will be a version without KS 🙂

    Le 4 icone 2 icone in più nel menu sono assolutamente inutili, la rubrica è li a portata di tap e per il tastierino baste premere cornetta verde! 🙄

  29. Is there ANY way to retrieve the 4 icons at the bottom by installing a different theme or a patch?
    Really need those in a firmware.

    n2o2 is the only firmware in which you can change widget hs bottom icons, just by changing the file in C:/Icons…

    to change fingeruse and other hs bottom icons, you’ll need to use c2z patch ( look here http://forums.samsungi8910omnia.com/samsung-i8910-themes-widgets-other-gui-graphical-modifications/8772-tutorial-change-icons-applications-finger-use-homescreen.html)

    by the way, I’ll release an n2o3 version with standard samsung icons
