Hi guys I heard some of you are having problems with the cellular videocalling…

I’m sorry that I don’t have that problem so fixing it will be more difficult, but I already have some ideas to get it to work, so expect a fixed n2o4 version for those who don’t have the videocalling to work soon 😉

The fixed version will also have working SWYPE (I already use it on my phone 🙂 as you know it’s only english and as you may have read on hx’s site, it only works with fws WITHOUT INTERNATIONAL KEYBOARD ) 😉

But I still need some days…I’m not at home and I can’t upload…

A new faenilator is in progress, and an updated startbackup too, but things need time, and I have exams until the end of september, so thing are going on at a slower pace. I am also looking for a new house, so I am usually out all day visiting new houses…

For these reasons I have not answered to the comments in the last 3-4 days, but do know that I READ THEM ALL, so even if you didn’t get an answer, do know that I always take into account EVERY request of yours 😀

about the RADIO FREQUENCY: it’s a theme bug…you’ll have the fixed theme in the upcoming version

1) install modded 1.08 ovistore, and then change the phone id using HXPatcher or any other method, in the meanwhile phone id changing feature is added to the faenilator, and then use the ovistore 🙂

    it gets installed but doesnt start – i m using some 3.047 version

    can u mod the facebook app. and make it like iphone ? i.e chat enabled and all

    ovimaps, install this, and then install Ovimaps 3.04.278 (latest version available) 😉 it works 🙂

    Thank you for helping on videocalls. I did not realize that by telling about N204 not working with videocalls would stir up such “war”. I have installed N204 base gadget in E +WDR on and off,no hard reset 2 times and no programs installed, but still videocalls do not work. Then tried hx cfw and it worked. Also have tried previous successor N203 and it worked. So don’t understand why your’s work and mine doesn’t. I am from Finland too.

    Anyway, N204 is the best as N203 was same too. I rather use yours than others.

  7. Hey faenil. I’ve just flashed my phone for the first time. Its pretty good, but I have a few questions i’d like to ask. Not sure if they’ve been asked already so bear with me if they have..

    1. Is it possible to install the hx v8-32 hometheme. I’ve looked around and i cant get bluespectrum to work. or if not, how do I activate the old widget screen. I like it because it has the music player/radio widgets which I use frequently.

    2. Could you kindly link me to a tutorial of how the rompatcher works? dont understand it (or better yet, a video up on youtube)

    3. When I press and hold the center button, it no longer brings up the 3d menu for changing menu’s but instead brings a small, traylike menu. while this is good, id much rather the former.

    4. when I hold down the hang up button, some of my applications close as opposed to being minimized, most notably the default web browser which is quite annoying!

    5. If I do switch off the phone when the data cable in, it sometimes causes the screen to hang and constantly flicker as opposed to going to the charging menu. (maybe a bug? not sure)

    6. Is there a place I can install relevant applications for the phone, like those that come with them by default. If you could append a download section with on your site with your fav apps or links to them, that would be great!

    I know its abit lengthy, and i do have other questions so other users please fill free to comment and help a fellow newb out. I really like this firmware, and would really like to know how to use it and customize it fully. Thanks in advance and keep up the good work faenil.

    1) I’m sorry I never used it, btw it should not be difficult, ask on forums 😉

    2) rompatcher, you have some patched and you just hit on the arrow to activate them…InstallServer patch is the “hack” to allow the installation of unsigned packaged…Open4All is the patch to allow you to go into system folder (like /resource) with 3rd party file managers… the other patches are just little things 😉
    3)You need to install the IwantTask3D package…go here and read the instructions.
    4) this should be the same as all other firmwares, I didn’t change anything…by the way, you should use the central button if you don’t want applications to close down 😉
    5) this is a known samsung’s bug 😉
    6) to install the missing samsung applications, go here

  10. if you add auto rotate keyboard from qwerty to numeric keypad i’ll definetly switch to your fw…
    it’s very annoying using qwerty or changing the keyboard manually when you’re driving, that’s all!

    New Faenilator and Startbacup sounds great..can’t wait to see it.
    As for the Swype and video-calling, i don’t use either of them and don’t plan to, so i don’t care much about that.

  12. N204 makes me and my phone happy!
    Seriously with your cfw + the Avkon cache trick + modem hdspa tweak I CANNOT BELIEVE HOW EFFIN FAST IT IS! (Shouting is appropriate to express excessive joy:) Fast with visual delights.

    I have yet to find any bugs. Everything is working !sweetly
    If samsung released fw at this quality they’d have had an amazing phone. But they suck at anything software related so thank god for guys like you!

    Simply the greatest cfw that’s had the pleasure to reside on my I8910 since N203

    Some suggestions
    A quicker/automated way to clear icon cache
    Change Phone ID selection ( Also to pc ID so we get full web)
    A newer version of flashlite implemented (if possible?)

    thanks for your advices 😉 unfortunately the new flashlite is not fully compatible with i8910, so I can’t import it 😉

  13. why i don´t use your cfw is because there are more tweaks in hx-v8-32 but if you could implement no folder delay on opening, phone torch, autorotate qwertz from alphanumeric it would be your cfw, because it seems that especially the kastor effects makes the i8910 with n2o4 so smooth thats awesome!

    man those are exclusives…I’ll try my best…

  15. Hi Faenil, I’m so satisfied with the n2o4 that I think do more is nearly impossible, and i’m not asking you anything becouse now my omnia does everything i need from a smartphone. If I want more…well i’m going to buy an android device. You’ve done much more than Samsung’s people…Thanks for everything again, keep working on HD but keep studing!

  19. there is also one anoying thing, while opening a folder in menu that has many apps, it takes a long time to open, can you do something about it?

  23. the v’data transfer ‘ is not working… does search the other blth devices but when tapped on the searched device shows nothing, does nothing… when moved the searched device shown on the screen onto our devices tab that is in the center of the screen it says it cant establish connection..so that we cant get access into the other device… the other device does get access into our device when paired using that other device.. i have used three other phones.. two samsungs.. corby and s5603… can u fix this.. thanks

  27. i m a hx fan, i never had faenil roms. but i see the boy is v responsive just like his roms. the only thing which stitches me with hx roms is his hx patcher i wish faeniltor will surpass hx patcher. and sajadkhan806’s idea needs a try i think. coz its a unique and useful idea i think so. best of luck for ur future deveopments and ur studies

    You said that you cannot port multi-touch but how about using QT? To port aplications? In portuguese language pack couldn’t you put letters in the dialler?

    You´re right, my sentence is crappy… Because of my two year old son, that time he was with me…
    What i was trying to say was, multitouch can´t be ported, unfortenatly can not be ported, ok no big deal. How about use QT to port apps like skype and others, maybe i´m saying an heresy, but if it was possible it would be cool.
