about donations

Hey guys, here’s a bad news 🙁

while I was buying some presents today I found out that my PAYPAL ACCOUNT IS LOCKED! 🙁

And it has been locked since 2nd December!

Actually, I was a bit sad that I received no donations at all after I released an N8 fw which has been alread downloaded thousand of times worldwide…but I never said anything about donations because they’re not the main reason for which I spend my days on cfw cooking, even if donations are always most welcome these days (due to the fact that I’m a student, no job, no money 😀 ) 🙂 at least now I know that there could have been some donators if the paypal account would have not been locked…

so I just wanted you to warn that I’m unable to receive donations at the moment, and I wanted to thank all of you who have donated so far and all of you who tried to donate in this period without being able to do so…I’ll update the status of my account as soon as I get things sorted 😉

A big thanks also to those who cannot donate for personal reasons I’ll not cover now, but who support me actively with comments and suggestions about my past and coming firmwares!

  2. Oh no 🙁 Is very sad to know that your paypal account are closed, because I made a donation of $1.000.000,00 and that money did not arrive until you…

    Just one question:

    – What motivates you to make and distribute free firmwares for the world?

    1. the only reasons I give them for free is, I like to do that 🙂 if I would not have a website I would still do firmwares for myself…

      you could say “there’s a big difference between making fws for yourself and supporting a community” ..
      actually, it is true 🙂 there’s a BIG difference, it would take 5hours to have a perfect working cfw for myself, but since I have to try to make all your wishes come true, it also takes me one month, or more…

      That’s just passion 😉
      I never put any fee nor donation limit (u know what I’m talking about 😉 ) and I hope I will never have the need to do that…I just hope people feel my effort and cooperate as they can: with donations, or with technical help, or with good comments 😉

      1. I’m using bidvertising atm, planned to switch to adsense, but I need a bank account for that 😉 btw, with bidvertising I earned 3$ in 5 months xD none clicks on ads and most of the people just block em…

        1. I have to look to find a good solution on this, because your work is so good that it deserved to be rewarded by the consciousness of people who use it, as it would be to see the publicity that would be advertised here.

    1. don’t worry bro, nothing behind it, just paypal’s policy, it’s just that THEY COULD HAVE TOLD ME ABOUT THAT! Not just wait till I login and check my left credit…

      1. PayPal policies don’t kick in by themselves like that… they surelly got more then 3 reports on you for something from someone so they blocked yours. Now you’re tagged for a while… nothing anyone can do, it’s PayPal at their best 🙁

  5. I know what you are going through as I had the same prob with my Paypal not too long ago. Took a week before it was clear and I could use it again 🙁 Probably a good thing as I tend to spend it all anyway. Merry Christmas mate and a prosperous New Year.

    PS. If you still manage to get out a new firmware for the i8910, may I suggest that you include auto-rotation of the keypad with memory of what was used last (I use qwerty for landscape and alpa keypad for portrait). This helps huge when I have to type on the go, or when I need the full landscape keyboard when using big words for important sms’s. Also can you give the fastest rotation speed you can. I often just turn off the rotation animation anyway to increase speed of rotation when viewing photos or such. Thanks again.

  8. Dear Faenil! Thank you 4 what you have done 4 community. I highly appreciate your effort. You have released excellent n204 and I have been using it since then ( that the reason why i still keep my i8910). I know you will realese a new one 🙂 I would like to suggest the following things in the new fw: 1 nokia theme/ 2. N8 homescreen/ 3. call recorder/4. hxpatcher /5. compatible with ovimap, ovistore / 6. camera quality/7 battery life time. Im sory if i ask so a lot.( Nguyen Haiphong, Vietnam)

      1. Firstly, apologies for this being in the wrong section, clicked the wrong comments link.
        Secondly, I tried the modpack initially and now the N8 N20 CFW and it still shows up files out of the sounds folder and also images like podcast images etc. Let me know if there is anything I can do to check/rectify this?
