first flash after months, working hard

Okay I spent the last few days planning the new features and changes of the n2o5…now I’m ready to make all those things come true 🙂

 

I have just flashed my i8910 for the first time in the last 3 months 🙂 Never had a problem with n2o4 during this time…it’s rock solid here…let’s hope n2o5 will keep up with it, despite the new features! 🙂

I’ll need the help of UI designers, creative people, and all of you who have fresh ideas for n2o5!

I know lots of you care about ovimaps 3.06, but I have no idea about how to solve that issue at the moment…I have not even made any research about that, because I don’t know what to look for atm….I could be easy, it could be undoable…don’t know if it’ll be there in n2o5…it’s not worth the time it could take.

Keep on commenting and suggesting, I always read your comments! 😉 Just stop asking for S^3 or Android, thanks 🙂

  1. To be fair i can’t see how you can improve on N204. The camera is as good as hardware limits. The menu’s open up as quick as their pressed. Hundreds of media items in gallery slide without a hinder. Almost every flaw samsung left us has been ironed out. N204 will be very hard to beat. It rocks my i8910 🙂 what stops us putting a newer flash player on is what i want to know. A quicker java would be good.

    i miei consigli per la nuova rom:

    1)Possibilità di avere HXPatcher completamente funzionante e in autostart (che funzionino tutti i settings – overclock fino a 950mhz incluso)
    2)Cartelle che si aprono immediatamente come nella HXv11 e che non si debba aspettare 10 secondi quando ci sono molti programmi installati
    3)Stabilità della N204
    4)Questa nn so se è possibile pero per me sarebbe stata importantissima – Swype piu veloce. è un keyboard molto buono pero è un poco lento se uno scrive velocemente, specialmente se paragonato con altri cell piu recenti…è possibile velocizzarlo? Cambiare i settings della application da precision a speed non risolvono il problema.
    5)Massima capacità nel drive C:
    6)Potresti includere nella rom applicazioni tipo Google Maps, Opera Browser, Trackid, Soundhound, Maps, Phonetorch pero non è importante, tanto le possiamo installare da soli

    Del resto, non so cos’altro si possa fare con il nostro cell. Non voglio Flash homescreens e cazzate del genere. Tanto SPB Shell ormai è un must.

Se non è troppo, secondo me potresti fare una versione “Base” molto molto veloce e stabile, che sarebbe molto utile a tutti quelli che usano SPB Shell o che comunque vogliono una rom leggera, così da non rallentare neanche un poco il telefono e ridurre un poco anche il consumo della batteria, e poi una versione più elaborata per tutti quelli che non usano Spb shell..

    poi la galleria, non so se solo a me, è molto molto lenta, va a scatti con lo scrolling cinetico e a volte si blocca, per questo uso ormai da tempo resco photo viewer, che però è più lento nello scorrere le immagini…si riesce a rsolvere in qualche modo il problema della galleria o ancora no?

  7. I know that you said many times that you can’t put better flash player in Opera mobile, but can you make our default browser looks more similar to opera? I don’t know english very well, so I can’t tell you exactly what I mean… :/ anyway it would be nice and much easier to navigate with all opera stuff 😀

  8. ciao, aspettavamo da un pò il tuo ritorno, e x la rom un paio di cose:
    io con la n2o4 x entrare nella galleria devo aspettare quasi 1 min sempre e se una volta sulle foto cerco di usare subito il ks da prob mi fa aspettare altri 30 sec con il cell bloccato…si puo fare qualcosa??
    bloccare la connessione usb in modo di ricaricare il cell da pc senza k il pc lo veda come memoria….se si può.

    yes actually it seems to be this part in the PKG-script: IF ((MachineUid=0x20023765) OR ((MachineUid=0x2000DA56) OR ((MachineUid=0x20014DDD) OR (MachineUid=0x20014DDE)))) AND (NOT (EXISTS(“z:sysbinmapsiaupdate.dll”)))

    and also

    IF (NOT (EXISTS(“z:private20001f63offline_treeiconsi0 00000a.svg”))) AND (NOT (EXISTS(“c:private20001f63offline_treeiconsi0 00000a.svg”)))

    On the i8910, we dont have the mapsiaupdate.dll anyway, nor do we have i000000a.svg. so might this cause the problem?

    anyone succeeded in installing on i8910?

  12. Why camera HISSING is ON by default and user has to press that stinking code and set dB to 8 everytime??? For sake of your children, set this setting automatic!

  13. in my N96 browser i could whilst in the browser goto options and select find: this allowed me to grab a number or email from the browser and then call/use that number or link.. As the i8910 has such similar OS to this why o why has our browser never had this – surely this could be added quite easily? Faenil you are the last man with Omnia HD knowledge, please save us 🙂

  14. go and get iphone4. symbian has many limitations and it is not for smart phones. i had omnia hd and i sold it. i was very mach annoyed by pressing twice for some applications to open.like in gallary i have to press images and videos twice to open it. why? i know it is corrected in nokia n8 symbian3. but still n8 is far behind from android and ios when it comes to software. get iphone. and enjoy the best touch screen and wonderful ios.
    i also like to thank faenil for making n203 and n204. both are excellent firmware. but symbain has its limitation. hats off to faenil for n203 and n204.

    why i can’t record voice call
    why i can’t listen music during call with my partener like all nokia phones
    do u have selutions for all this problems
    & if you have apps themes & games for i8910 please upload it in your website because i found diffculty to find it

  17. i hope you add please in faenilator the option of CHANGING PHONE iD to different models.
    especially the nokia maps is a must to have, but cannot be updated if not a nokia unit.
    and the video codec also, please improve the audio quality like to HX-v11.
    PLease!
    otherwise, everything are really great!

    volevo esprimere la mia ppinione su cosa potresti implementare nella n2o5
    -UNA BELLA LOCKSCREEN TIPO N8 l’uso del tasto sblocca è fastidioso, magari la possibilità di cambiarla a piacimento, con un’opzione nel faenilator…. in ogni caso sarebbe ottimo non mantenere la lockscreen attuale….
    -swype + veloce se ne hai la possibilità
    -mantenere la stabilità della n2o4 e magari velocizzare un po l’apertura di cartelle molto grandi
    -migliore velocità nella galleria
    -aggiungere qualche programma come default tipo ovi store, ovi maps, opera mobile, phonetorch….
    ci faresti riparmiare un sacco di tempo!! 😉
