Comment to tell me what would make you feel satisfied with n2o5 + About firmware deadline

I know guys, I know, you have been waiting a lot, and so have I…

but, n2o5 is not coming soon as many of you are suspecting.

You have to think about the fact that I am alone now working on mods…there’s no other i8910 modder which is active at the moment, as far as I know…

This means that I have to try every new possible mod alone, and this takes time, MUCH time.

You want a new custom firmware, you want new mods, you want a deadly good custom firmware, but most of you don’t have enough patience to think and understand how much work there is behind something like this.

I am not hyperx –> I do not pay other people to work for me (not that this is ethically wrong, but it is not my style)

Doing things now takes 10x the times. And university projects and studies just keep taking time. This is the reality.

I have to code the faenilator alone. The faenilator takes time.

You want new features, freaking good GUI, but you don’t want to wait 🙂

You want the truth from me? the faenilator needs at least 2 weeks of coding, all day, to reach a beta status. But I don’t have all that spare time to code the faenilator, and many of you keep requesting mods, so I also spend much time on that.

I’m very sorry that I keep you waiting, but I hope you understand now why I CAN’T tell you a deadline, there are so many factors affecting it, that I just can’t do it. My spare time, the new mods, the new idea, plan changes, and so on.

Now, for those who have read the upper part of this message,  I’d like you to leave a comment ONCE MORE to tell me what would make you feel satisfied with n2o5. Why are you waiting it? What do you expect from it? What would you make you happy?

  1. ciao faenil,il punto sulla problema lhai messo,era gia ora.essendo uno terminale aparte con il symbian criptato solo per il samsung,era morto gia dalla uscita,ma comunque hai fatto grande cosse,massimo rispetto.magari era tempo a fermarti dalla ricerca dello santo graal,neanche dio non si implica 100 per 100 comme te.grazzie a te per tutto,mi hai offerto piu da quanto potevva ofrire la samsung.studia di pui,al massimo posibile,ed ariverrai piu alto da quanto lho sperri.

    grazie all’amico randa, ora questa applicazione parte sull’omnia hd (ha levato lo smart istaller che da sempre problemi)…
    questo programma permette di fare foto in HDR ma evidentemente c’è qualche problema nella gestione della fotocamera e da errore, ma nelle impostazioni funziona perfettamente!!

    grazie ancora per il lavoro che stai facendo!! io personalmente nn ho furia di nnt…. ormai siamo gia ad un buon livello… purtroppo nn si può avere altro… symbian ormai è morta… non c’è sviluppo e siamo stati tutti abbandonati come dei cani…
    purtroppo non tutti si possono permettere uno smartphone da 500 euro l’anno… ma l’economia è questa… e se vogliono vendere devono anche prenderci per il culo… insomma.. io posso chiedere stabilità…. il resto sono cose impossibili purtroppo… come android… (è davvero un peccato… ho provato questo sistema operativo e ne sono rimasto soddisfatto un casino… 🙁 )
    vabbe… ti ringrazio ancora…. non abbiamo furia. PENSA PRIMA ALLA TUA VITA poi ai nostri cel!! CAPITO?!?! 😉

  5. Dude, Don’t worry, take your time and do modding.. don’t rush for it. After all good things take time 🙂
    Most of the people have switched their phone by now. The rest have some better phone along with it, so basically there is not much crowd for i8910 now a days. They are just people like me and you who are eager to see what our machine can do 😛 So there is no hurry for anything.. And most of us know that there is no possibility for a new feature to work on it, Newer firmware will be just improvement to older stuff. And besides all this, let me and other good friend of yours know if we can do anything to help, like testing something or so..

    1. go to omniahdforums and search battery, you’ll find a great thread on re training the battery management system. I was rarely getting a full days use but after following the threads guides i now go for 3 days 🙂 check it out!

    nokia APIs.
    that we can instal softwares, designed for nokia devices on our beloved omniaHD by changing its ID.
    Im thinking about nokia beta labs softwares ofcourse…

  12. Hi Faenil. Your work is great. What if you could look at better pictures capturing – i8910 realy has better optic then wawe has. So why not do it better then wawe do? The second you can look at it is battery consuption. I mean that this is the same problem like picture capturing 🙂 Wawe is realy better then i8910. And I realy do not like my wife seying: “I have better mobile phone” 🙂

  14. Hey, first of all thank you for your efforts on still working on our old phone!

    Anyway Nokia just released this super cool screensaver for their OLED s^3 devices (http://betalabs.nokia.com/apps/nokia-sleeping-screen).
    Would it be possible to make it work on i8910? At least the file installed correctly on i8910, but s^1 doesn’t have a screensaver menu where to enable it.
    Also it’s based on QT.

  15. When using GPS – Navigation. Distance to the target is not visible because the font is white and a background is white. Please let it corrected.

  16. Turn off power saving. When battery is almost empty I still want to be able to use camera. That’s annoying. Add screen rotation in movie player. I would also enjoy multiple desktops switched by swiping finger on the screen.

  17. How about an 3rd file/folder naming option for camera photos/videos. At the moment you can either select 1. Text or 2. Date — Date being the best, but how about an option 3 which is hyphenated (or separated) date. So instead of 20110405001.jpg you’ll end up with 2011-04-05-001.jpg (or some other separator such as dot, underscore etc). Or maybe a different separator (space, dot, underscore etc) in front of the filename: 2011-04-05.001.jpg

    I know it’s not a big thing, but just makes the filenames easier to differentiate as at the moment it’s just a clump of numbers, of course most people are fine with this, but a 3rd option if it’s possible would be nice.

  18. Also, anyway to make a different browser the default? For example those who have Opera installed, can that be made default so that if a link is opened from within, say, a text message, it opens in the Opera browser rather than the one that comes with the phone?

  22. ciao faenil,utilizzando un android motorola milenstone ho notato che collegandolo al cavo fa una bella suoneria e non il bip brutto che fa il nostro collegato al cavetto,puoi fare qualcosa?

  23. be,naturalmente non è una priorità ma le cose importanti a quanto pare le hai già definite,quindi possiamo passare a rifinire il firmware 😉
    come già scritto altrove se ti serve un betatester fa un fischio 😉

  25. Also, can you code Faenilator so it don’t use system font but instead use image mapped ones instead… something like OffScreen Grid, or PoolRebel or Bacterium or Sykronics Smile?

    Its most useful for overriding FontRouter problems arising in conjunction with QT apps. In this way one can have any system font but QT application is not having any problem and is not crashing if ran while system font is changed via application.

    Also consider that you can further personalize your Faenilator this way.
