I know guys, I know, you have been waiting a lot, and so have I…

but, n2o5 is not coming soon as many of you are suspecting.

You have to think about the fact that I am alone now working on mods…there’s no other i8910 modder which is active at the moment, as far as I know…

This means that I have to try every new possible mod alone, and this takes time, MUCH time.

You want a new custom firmware, you want new mods, you want a deadly good custom firmware, but most of you don’t have enough patience to think and understand how much work there is behind something like this.

I am not hyperx –> I do not pay other people to work for me (not that this is ethically wrong, but it is not my style)

Doing things now takes 10x the times. And university projects and studies just keep taking time. This is the reality.

I have to code the faenilator alone. The faenilator takes time.

You want new features, freaking good GUI, but you don’t want to wait 🙂

You want the truth from me? the faenilator needs at least 2 weeks of coding, all day, to reach a beta status. But I don’t have all that spare time to code the faenilator, and many of you keep requesting mods, so I also spend much time on that.

I’m very sorry that I keep you waiting, but I hope you understand now why I CAN’T tell you a deadline, there are so many factors affecting it, that I just can’t do it. My spare time, the new mods, the new idea, plan changes, and so on.

Now, for those who have read the upper part of this message,  I’d like you to leave a comment ONCE MORE to tell me what would make you feel satisfied with n2o5. Why are you waiting it? What do you expect from it? What would you make you happy?

      2. For almost 2 months i’ve been running @ 600/700/800 mhz and getting more than twofold of battery uptime which is purely down to the Vbatt tweaking. Best tweak for those complaining of quick battery drain. My battery now is without any doubt much better than ever before. On a two year old battery!

    i’m not in a hurry so take your time.
    about hyperx: nobody knows if he’s still alive,i think he’s on a holiday for a very long time taking
    our donations with him 😉

  6. I seriously believe it’s time to move on og accept current firmwares. Everything important works satisfyingly as it is and i don’t thing you’ll be able to add anything groundbraking anyway. I’d prioritise my personal life or work on fanielator alone if it’s your passion. Doing all at ones, alone, as soon as possible gives rarely good quality. Personally i’m waiting for a new phone with many new possibilities and many NOTICEABLE improvements.

  7. Hi faenil, I just think that if you didn’t work on cfws, I probably have sold my Omnia years ago! So take your time, and to be honest i was wondering what could you improve in this n2o5, becouse n204 is really perfect. Symbian is dead and buried, no matter if s^3 or s60v5. Nobody works on it also for this, i think. And this is a huge shame, Omnia HD is still a very good smartphone, but with symbian it’s like a Ferrari without wheels! So, again, thank you very much for all you’ve done, if you need any helps for n205 i’m here but i’m not sure how can i help.

  8. ciao, allora ho letto quello k hai scritto e mi rendo conto k è un macello stare dietro i8910 facendo l’uni e essendo da solo, quindi pensa ai studi e qnd hai tempo fai quello k riesci x il cfw…x qnd riguarda cosa ci aspettiamo, Un cfw di faenil, dal momento k sono i migliori..ormai qst cell ha fatto il suo tempo qndi nn è k ci aspettiamo ki sa cosa, basta k sia stabile come gli altri. ah se riesci rimetti i file help ki tempo fa li avevi tolti x spazio su c: ma sono utili delle volte invece di avere un system error. bella

  9. 1. Implement n8 KS paramaters – should be smooth but of average speed
    2. Implement resident apps closing after exit (simple txt file mod) and I know you already know how…
    3. Implement few mifs concerning icons that should go with your default CFW theme – should be already there
    4. Make Faenilator switching phone (web) ID via CRE through menus
    5. For machine ID we already can count on other things if I got it right 😉
    6. Try and make HX-Patcher autostart re OC features if you’re ready to mod your CFW to be fully compatiblke with it.
    7. Do your usual work re stability and performance – as it never lacked in your CFWs
    8. Expect a small donation from me in due time 😉
    9. If in need of a beta tester, you know how to contact me and you know I will help pinpointing eventual bugs.

    2. I only liked Phone changer ID and Underclocking in HX patcher… if Faenil can do that with Faenilator then I dont want HX patcher for n205….

      remaining camera like HX v11 is still a choice…

    can you implement an option in sensor to lock screen that when the phone is in our pocket, the screen locks, and when is out of our pocket unlocks… There is a software wich makes exactly that (pocketlock), but there’s a bug, during a call the phone reboots…

          1. I have used it but trust me when i used to get my hand on it while taking pictures, it would lock and it was more than a pain… dont do this mod.. just let ppl install pocket sensor software…

    1. le foto vanno elaborate prima di essere visualizzate…non penso sia una buona idea…e comunque è un software appena nato, e potrebbe non piacere ad alcuni…insomma ci sono troppi problemi 🙂

    quello che vorrei io è una maggiore compatibilità degli applicativi
    esempio:
    alcuni programmi scritti in phyton o qt ad alcuni vanno e ad altri no,sarebbe bello che a tutti andassero bene allo stesso modo
    la stabilità ormai è il tuo piatto forte..io ho provato le tue rom e quelle di hyperx e non c’è paragone,la tua n2o4 è quasi veloce quanto la hx11(overclockata) ma è molto più stabile..
    l’unica cosa bella di quella rom è l’hxpatcher 🙂
    già mettendolo sulla tua rom non c’è paragone che tenga,la tua rom da overclockata è un vero spettacolo!!

    1. ma la compatibilità non si può migliorare…non posso farci niente…soprattutto per le cose scritte in pythos, che hanno un runtime su symbian tutt’altro che stabile.

  16. The last time I put on an HX ROM, it let me down pretty bad. And since then I haven’t used my i8910.

    You know, take your time, but release a firmware which you personally think is the best you can do…So that everybody including you would be happy with the firmware 😉

    1)versione WDR ON…sono forse l unico che lo preferisce attivo!
    2)QT 4.7.2 (penso già siano nel programma)

    8)Possibilità di installare almeno Flash lite 3.1…xkè supporta l accellerometro…e io uso alcune applicazioni flash con l accellerometro! (so i bug a cui vado in contro 😉 )

  19. First of all I want to thank you for all your work and all you have done with the i8910. Take your time with n205, because personal life is a priority and imho i8910 users know that it takes time for a good cfw.
    As for improvements, i have a few ideeas that I hope you will consider:
    1) I know SPB cannot be implemented in fw, but maybe it is possible to create a cfw adapted for SPB usage, for example with spb we don’t need any extra homescreens (widget, tsunami) and other mods

    2) I think that i8910 looks best with the iphone font(not a fanboy, it just looks good) and the spb black theme found on the spb website.     3)Maybe this one is not possible , but it would be very usefull if we could change the exposure time at the camera. Currently we don’t have that option, and it’s very annoying when pictures without flash look brighter than those with flash .

      2) theme has already been chosen. about the font, unfortunately changing font is not just a matter of choice, it’s about compatibility…
      3) lower the ISO when you don’t use the flash if you want darker photos…no options can be added…

  20. Hey Faenil, I was wondering if you could remap the keys in the music player.
    One thing I’m really missing is the possibility of changing / pausing a song without unlocking the device (think for example when you’re driving).
    If you think it’s not doable with the normal music player, you could also think of trying with TTpod, which is really awesome.

    when light goes off with autolock off, the screen goes black and touch becomes locked too… you hav to click hard key like menu or others to make screen visible again…
    make the screen to reappear with touch on screen…

    If ur faenilator is competing HX patcher then fuck HX patcher… I installed that with n204 and it started becoming buggy… when I uninstalled HX patcher, i got system error and I hard to hard format…

    I agree with Fevves Mods, but remember my upper one… atleast u didnt add that one to ur banned comments 😉

    Remaining, the longer u take to make, I know you will make it better as Haste makes waste and the longer will Omnia HD live 🙂

    Dont disturb ur personal life, that matters the most…. but dont forget my mod 🙂

    1. OHD has Capacitive and not Resistive touch screen, therefore, it can’t be done unless someone would redo OHD from scratch.

      Consider it like this: Touch (capacitive) vs Push (resistive) screen.

      As for everything else, I prefer what I saw Faenilator would and could be 🙂 aside OC which might not be needed for most people 😉

  27. Ciao Faenil, essendo questa l’ultima rom penso che devi prenderti tutto il tempo necessario, solo due cose: c’è qualche speranza per le foto in verticale?
    2) l’hxpatcher non mi sembra funzioni molto bene e dato che l’unica cosa che ci interessa è l’overclock per alcuni e l’underclock per altri mi sembra molto meglio integrarlo in un programma in qt come il faenilator; so che ci vorebbe ancora molto altro tempo ma secondo me sarebbero tutti più soddisfatti…
    e ultima cosa puoi fixare l’apertura di cartelle pesanti? Grazie infinite…

    1. per le foto in verticale mandami una mail e spiegami bene il problema e tue eventuali idee per la soluzione…per il momento non ho capito come risolvere questo problema, penso sia dovuto a una mancanza di informazioni EXIF, e se è quello, non posso farci niente…

  30. Hi Faenil, you have done good work for the i8910 community. As one of your fans I would like to thank you for keeping our phone alive. Please take as much time as you like in coming up with your next firmware. I assure you, we might be a little impatient about it, but we all understand that FW cooking takes time and for the kind of FW that you create, the stability, the mods and everything else you do, we are willing to wait.
    There isn’t too much more you can do after what you’ve given us in n204. So just work on Faenilator. Please take no pressure from any of your fans and followers. Give your personal and academic life the importance it deserves.

  32. non so se è possibile ma una cosa sicuramente apprezzata (tenendo conto che questo molto probabilmente sarà l’ultimo custom fw) sarebbe la possibilità di poter formattare il telefono senza dover riflashare… Ho sempre sentito che solo formattando si perdono alcuni files del firmware, non so se questo sia vero o no in ogni caso sarebbe bellissimo poter fare così e togliere sta benedetta partizione di xp solo per il flash…..

  33. In regards to automatic file/folder naming for photos & videos that you capture with the camera, at the moment there’s two options, Text and Date. I use Date format which is the best imo, but would it be possible to add a 3rd option where it’s hyphenated date format for those who prefer that? So that instead of 20110328001.jpg it would be 2011-03-28-001.jpg

    I don’t use faenilator so no comment on that, i prefer the samsung fingeruse screen with my own 4 personalised shortcuts and the samsung icons on the bottom and corresponding simpler looking menu icons.

      about the faenilator: it’s not a homescreen, it is a very useful application (only few features in the available version)

    io ho da 1 pò l’ultima di HX e ho saltato la tua n2o4 ma questa ultima non me la posso perdere!
    non avendo provato la tua non potrei davvero dirti cosa migliorare ma ti posso solo dire cosa non mi piace dell’ultima di HX:
    under/overclock inutile per l’uso che ne faccio io
    durata batteria bassa
    ram libera non eccezionale

    quindi se la n205 già non avrà queste pecche per me sarà già ottima! in tutti i casi la proverò lo stesso 🙂

  38. a me piacerebbe se è possibile avere un homescreen sempre con widget però simile a quella di android o spb mobile shell con più schermate da cambiare a scorrimento, la homescreen base ha 3 schermare però ogni volta, per cambiarle non è veloce,bisogna cliccare sul tasto per far uscire i widget,ecc,ecc, davvero poco pratico, una homescreen style android velocizzerebbe tutto

  40. Ciao faenil, a me piacerebbe moltissimo poter utilizzare l’applicazione “Camera Pro”, per symbian 3, su Omnia HD. L’app si avvia ma le foto non le scatta poichè non riconosce la risoluzione della fotocamera. I video hanno anche questo problema. Un mio amico l’ha installato sul suo 5800 e funziona perfettamente. Fammi sapere ciao 🙂

  41. Avere la DayHand by Criskelo pre-installata. Se vuoi io ho fatto la versione per l’italiano, anche graficamente sui tasti,(dato che non c’era di Criskelo), basta una mail e te la passo. 🙂

    I’m currently using your n204 firmware, and it is really very good.

    Anyways take your time with n205.

    I’m patiently waiting for it, because I think this will probably be the last firmware for this phone. After flashing n205, I want the phone maxed out, so that I no longer have to do any sort of modifications to improve performance. I will probably sell i8910 after using n205.

    1. unfortunately there’s neither an official Pure nor a complete one online….I can’t trust homemade fonts for things like this (a custom firmware for all languages)

    io mi aspetto solo delle novita a livello grafico in quanto credo che ormai l’abbiamo spremuto al max sto s60.Non ti chiedo nessun programma in particolare se non phone torch,perche sarebbe solo una richiesta personale e non utile a tutti(ed e’ quello che non capisce la gente…Per me l’n2o5 puoi rilasciarla pure a settembre e’ una cosa in piu e gratuita che fai per noi e quindi non puo esser pretesa.

  46. La mia richiesta è in pratica una sola, non so se l’hai implementata nella n2o4 ma mi pare di ricordare di no. HX ha fatto in modo che il menù non rallenti nell’aprire cartelle con tante applicazioni o con applicazioni molto pesanti (per far scattare la cartella applicazioni nella v11 c’ho dovuto mette circa 100 tra programmi e giochi).Potresti vedere se ci riesci anche tu? Mi fa tanto rosicare che devo aspettare nel menù ù.ù .. Se già l’hai implementato, beh, pare che ci sia tutto :P. Ah, nel faenilator mi piacerebbe ci fosse (non so se già c’è) un opzione per fare in modo che l’illuminazione dello schermo si metta al minimo, come quando ha zero batteria. Se mi sovviene altro, te lo riferirò. Lavora con calma e fai un buon lavoro come ci hai abituato (sì, ci hai abituato “male” XD) .. Keep it calm 😉

  47. Instead of me asking for mods you may already be working on, can you give us a clear indication of mods you are currently working on/trying to achieve/getting somewhere or hitting a wall?

    I see many asking for impossible things or stuff that has already achieved maximum potential. Many people can be patient now, but soon patience wears thin (being human sux, look at how people drive these days 😉 ).

    Just make sure to keep us posted on your successes and keep us in the loop, hopefully keeping everyone happy enough to enjoy the little successes you have too. We’ve been abandoned by mostly everyone else, you are all we have left. Thanks buddy! Australia loves your work. 😀
