New rom is nearly finished!!

Hi guys 🙂

The new n2o3 is nearly finished!!

I have something very new for this rom…

I am using some new structural mods, which you won’t find in any other rom, let me show the most important ones:

1) THERE WILL ONLY BE ONE VERSION, FOR EVERYBODY!!! ALL YOU HAVE TO DO IS APPLY YOUR LOCALIZATION WITH A FLASH PATCH!!
This means:
– YOU WILL NOT HAVE TO WAIT FOR YOUR LOCALIZATION VERSION, YOU’LL HAVE IT TOGETHER WITH EVERYONE ELSE, AND WHEN I WILL UPDATE THE FIRMWARE, EVERYBODY WILL GET THE UPDATE AT THE SAME TIME!!! (just reflash the fixed base version, and then apply flash localization patch)
– UPLOAD TIMES ARE MUUUUUUUUUCH SHORTER!!! THIS MEANS IT WON’T BE A PROBLEM TO UPLOAD A FIXED VERSION JUST FOR A SMALL FIX!!!

2) What I want to do with the n2o3 is the most suitable rom for everyone…
that is why I thought about it:
– THE n2o3 WILL COME WITHOUT 3DNAV AND WITHOUT TASK3D, BUT:
YOU’LL ONLY NEED ONE .SIS TO GET THEM BACK!! (using PowerBoot —> thanks to the user who suggested using this software via email 🙂 )

Those are just two thing, that I am very proud of…

  8. first of all congrates for ur rom…. i hope its the best one out… i hav some questions..

    will u give a firmware only eng… and patches for localization..

    can u give a pacth for only 3d multitask.. no 3d navigation…

    there will be a sis for NAV3D, a sis for TASK3D, a sis for BOTH 🙂

  12. Hey Faenil, Congrats for your work on this new rom and best wishes for your upcoming exams. Got a question, are you going to release a patch for pan-focus & auto-focus on video?

    There is only one patch: The one that disables PreAutofocus, enabling the standard hyperfocal focus of i8910

  14. great idea very helpfull to you…3D nav and 3D task are clear and what about KS in menu fimally I figured out that ROM is better without KS in menu because actually I dont need it LOL thats why I change n2o2 CZ to n2o2 only EN without everything (KS in menu and 3D stuff) THX for answer cant wait for new speed up!!! 😉

  15. BTW: I found the HD video in n2o2 little bit blurry (not 100% focused) for about 5mm and far the objects arent so sharp, macro shoot is good enought…

    focus is the same in every firmware

  17. Hey, Thanks for your quick reply. Though is there any other way we can enable/disable AF or PF -when we want? 😛 . I tried copying 101F8808.txt and deleting 101F8808.cre on presentation folder but that didn’t work. I guess the actual files are on Z: drive? 🙄

    well you should be able to modify it modifying the file in C…

  19. This sounds great with the ability for each user to do the final customization to suit them.

    A couple of points which may help users if you’re going down this route.

    1) the ability to edit/add to the list of folders which are excluded on the gallery etc. For example I have map files put into e:/trackonfly/images and due to the way they are stored can have hundreds of them.

    2) as a poster above has said re kinetic scroll on the menu (which I like and would keep) the auto rotation of the menu I think is the cause for the ‘back’ and ‘options’ buttons to appear in Skyfire in Landscape mode and take up part of the screen – this is bit of an issue when watching TV in full mode so the ability to not auto rotate the menu would be good.

    Great work though. Really appreciate all that you do. Will make a donation after submitting this it’s the least that I (and probably all of us) should do given the time/effort you put into it.

    1) Sorry I can’t code a software to do that…the mod we use is the only one I know to do that (.txt editing)
    2) I’ll try skyfire…I didn’t have problems with it…

  22. Sounds like a great project! I was really waiting for this. One tip is to have a separate section on your site collecting forthcoming patches and mods for this particular version. Perhaps others can contribute to those as well. Finally we may not need to reflash the base FW an endless amount of times.. 🙂

    wait you do need to flash your fw if I update the fw…
    it is just that you’ll not have to wait for your localization version, because it will be the same for everyone…

    if you meant that you don’t need to flash the international version and then the localized one, then you’re right 🙂

  23. Ahh.. Nice solution! But still hoping for modular updates in the future (if it’s possible) 😎

    well it depends on the type of update 🙂
    regular mods can be applied with a .sis…
    but things like lack of file need reflashing

  25. plzzzz faenil make and GREEK localization patch you did not include one on previews releases

    I know man but latest greek fw is veeery old!! I think I’ll have the same problem that I had with bulgarian localization…
    greek firmware is even older!!
    isn’t it IE fw?

  26. what do you mean by IE FW???? at least a way to have greek keyboard that only matters a solution for greek keyboard no need for localization

  30. Great idea separating ROM and localization files, faenil !!! 🙂

    Any chance to get the German localization files in a common format like Excel or similar ?
    I could then check and correct the localizations as I found some terms not localized with the previous versions.
    Also I could eliminate the countless mistakes Nokias original translators made while doing the original German localization.

    no man 🙂 localizations files are compiled resources…you should look into it one by one with “ResEdit for Symbian OS” and correct the mistakes… 🙂

  33. Hi faenil in i am eagerly waiting for ur rom to try.but b4 that i got a question 4u.

    have u included dictionary?

    did u fix the Built in component error?Eg(while installing satio home screen,java installation,some theme installation,some application installation etc..).

    could you also add some wonderful eye candy start up animated picture or something related to it.Thanks man and looking forward to cook best ROM’s ever made.

  35. plz faenil help me… i want when i record a video one one even the single sound should be recorded… but its not recording.. i dont mind the hissing sound to cum but i want perfect sound recording… plz tell me the internal settings for that….

    the english only is the base on which localization patches will (eventually) be applied
