Hi guys, here is something most of you will probably LOVE! 🙂 It is dedicated to the people who usually switch firmware, and like to flash firmwares as soon as they come out, without wondering of the problems it might bring 🙂
Have you ever had problems backing up your data? Have you ever had problems with pc studio making a mess in your phone because of incomplete backups, or making your phone unstable after you restored a backup?
Well, n2o4 will offer you a solution!!!!
This is a software coded by madhacker 😉 it was in C++ and it was less userfriendly but I forced it to re write the software in QT to make it easier to use….(you’ll need Qt libraries to use this 😉 )
the software is called: START BACKUP!
startbackup is an useful application that allows you to save your sensible data to the mass memory (E drive). It has got a simple user-friendly interface with some buttons that allow you to activate, restore or disable backup.
When you press the ACTIVATE button, the application will save, during the next boot, your phonebook, calendar, t9 dictionary, alarm, browser bookmark, notes, bluetooth associations and, last but not least, all messages (SMS, MMS and BLUETOOTH messages)!
If you want to restore on phone your data, open StartBackup and select Restore button then restart the phone, and you’re done!
if you want to switch rom just copy the startbackup folder with your files inside, flash the other firmware, copy the folder back in its place, reinstall startbackup, and hit restore, that’s all! 😀
No more cries for your lost smses, no more anger, no more PcStudio or homemade solutions!
and what if you want to make a hardreset because your firmware is not behaving properly but you’re not at home and you don’t have a PC with you?
JUST press ACTIVATE, reboot, and copy then Backup folder to the External memory card, and then make the hardreset! 🙂

first of all look… abt 90 percent ppl r using spb mobile shell.. so dont put any 3d navigation and 3d taskmanager in it….
use thread msgs instead of conversation… or dont put any of them.. we can install by ourselves..
delete all the things in the samsung folder which u give in n203..
plz use same kastors.. the best at the moment…
delete homescreens like samsung widget and every other.. as everybody is using spb shell…
and yes it should be as good as n203.. in speed and stability wise.

thread sms has problems as you already saw in hx’s roms.
why deleting all things in the samsung folders? I deleted 4 softwares, which are the only ones you can reinstall if you want. I don’t want people to miss their favourite software just for 1mb+ in C drive… 🙂

i have never used your firmware, but after hx v7 i guess ill give n204 a try. but ive read that you dont have trackid? and are you photos/videos better compared to hyperx?

for camera quality, don’t expect improvements, I think this camera is good enough, this is a phone, not a compact camera 😉 the lens is small, the shutter is slow…you can’t have much from it 🙂
i8910’s camera is one of the best out there in the market on a mobile phone..And cookers improved it a lot..With my i8910’s camera outdoors and in daylight, i get awesome pictures, some are even better than my Olympus FE-47 14-Megapixel Camera (outdoors picture, when cameras in Auto mode, ofc you can get better pics with a compact camera but i8910 is as good as a not so good compact camera :D)
Anyway, because of stupid Samsung it seems like you cant do any more huge improvements, besides, whats left to improve? You guys did everything and thanks :D.I think (and obviously you think too :D) you should focus on applications…For example, it would be nice if we could played motion sensor games without tooo fast motions…Or some othe good apps, like Wikitude, whihc you already gave us..Thank you very much :)…Really excited about the wonderful thing for social network users 😀 Backup is a good thing too altough i dont have any problems with Samsung PC Studio 🙂 but i guess i am one of the few :D..

That special backup/restore application, Does it fully and completely backup and restore our phone?
What I mean is, lets say I make a folder on root C: and I call it “MyMovies” and I copy a movie into that folder.
With this new backup/restore app after I do a full backup and when I restore it will it restore the “MyMovies” folder along with everything else?
Also when we MOVE apps and games into different folders will this backup/restore app restore the games and apps we have moved to our new folders we created?
What I am trying to ask is, is this a complete backup/restore app or is it simular to the PC Studio backup and the phones internal backup both of which do not do a full restore of everything…….

Did you see HX site faenil? its not good to copy somebodys work and publish it by own name, i used to respect HX team but i dont know why they are doing this…..i feel that the reason i switch back to this site and n2 roms….keep sharing mate 😐
he hasn’t used my work, he’s using an older version of QT… 😉 btw, of course it seems strange that he releases the qt edition just a few days after I have released the qt installer…

purtroppo questa è una cosa che capita sovente un po’ dappertutto, anche nel mio lavoro, ma prendo le mie contromisure e quando è il momento mi prendo le mie soddisfazioni… 😉
una batteria non ha cariche infinite…prima o poi si degrada…cmq puoi provare a farla scaricare COMPLETAMENTE e ricaricare COMPLETAMENTE per 2 o 3 volte e vedrai che si rigenererà un po’ 😉

Hey man, can you also backup call log? i remember it’s a file called logdb.dat or sth like that and it’s in a folder (sorry forgot the name) in the Private folder in C drive.

Hey Faenil. I’d ask – is there any possibility to port music player from n97/5800 or at least to make the samsungs player have quality as the buggy, neverworking TTpod? That’s the only reason why i’m still havimg my iPhone with me – i8910 sound quality is simply terrible and powerMP3 doesn’t have any connection to the homescreen, what really sux. And lcg jukebox looks ugly… The only thing i’m missing on my i8910 is music… I’d love if i could get this fixed once and for all. Thanks for ur work mate 🙂
