I’m still working on the project for my university but I have set everything back up to cook ^_^

I want you to know that I’ve been silent in the last days, but I was not just studying…
I got some results (thanks to “new” friends 🙂 ) and I finally found someone who could make my wishes come true 🙂

  4. Well i would like to be to versions: one as u like and one with classic Samsung Icons (bottom) + NO kinetic scrolling in meniu 🙂 Thanks. I`m still with your n2o3, it seems to be perfect for me, not even the HX V7 could make me change my mind 🙂 Thank you faenil !

    I’m trying hard to find a solution to have ks menu without having to make 2 versions… ^^

  5. faenil hello, first of all I wanted to thank you for your excellent work. I did not hesitate a moment once came into possession of this phone, to install the latest version of your great fw.
    I have to ask you a request: in the light of recent adverse developments between fring and Skype, the VOIP native theme support on our phone is increasingly becoming a priority at this point.
    I read your post on the Skype forum and do not hide that because I too fond of this world as well as a computer, I’m trying everything to cope with this lack of justification for my saying this wonderfull terminal.

  6. Hi Faenil, first of all thanks for n203, I am still on the same version in spite of HX-V7 being released. I believe it is more stable and hence on the same..

    I would want to know if it would be possible to integrate
    -> a video player which plays all video formats
    -> increase the processor speed to 720 MHz like the SE Vivaz (not more as it would break the proccessor, over heating etc)
    -> a better music player with good sound effects and UI with skins.
    -> Tsunami like home screen (it looks awesome)

  7. I know I don’t count much here (cause I never mounted you public released CFW) but:
    1. Implementation of latest Nokia web Browser – if it’s ever possible
    2. Shake to speakerphone voice call option – only if it’s not going top ruin something else
    3. Maintain localization compatibility and yet make some more people wanted
    4. Be sure not to forget to look into JD1 vs JC1 files for more bass on any music listening experience (I know on JC1 basses are great)
    5. Make pools on crucial features so you can decide better what to implement and what not to.
    6. Don’t ever look onto trolling comments like #1 is – don’t even comment on their petty and ignorant words, just leave them be as they are – worthless of your answer.
    7. Stay sharp and as always take care of you and your loved ones 🙂

  9. Integrate same battery improved system,which decries CPU sped to 250MHz,when the phone is not used. It will be brilliant to have battery for one week. I test HX V6 speed and battery take me for 4 day with low use of the phone.

    Great work!

    I get 6 days with low usage on n2o3…

    I tried many times to make autofocusing in video work…no success so far, but I don’t give up 😉

  11. Hello Faenil. Do the right upgrade N2O3 and will be great. That is only inserted:
    1st-tsunami,
    2nd-enhance the image a little, to be stable quality, try to look to the codec of the i8510-INNOV8 (as are his paintings of great)
    3rd-stabilized Java, all games can be igaju (Big Roll)
    4.-Add the facebook application SE Idou, I think the better version.
    HOW DO you think is best. UNTIL NOW delighted me, I have no doubt in .———–” YOUR QUALITY IS TOP N2O3 TI, phenomenal (only annoys me painting is one in three poor )”——– —-.

    3) Java works ok, it is just that samsung has got modified APIs, and games are made for Nokia’s

    I just like ur rom, vry fast, vry stable!! I just want one thing really badly: pls improve the in-build music playe, either make it skinnable, make it look like the 5800 one, improve KS, etc etc. That would really give our the edge!!

  13. hi nice to hear from u bro. and i thing i wanna say is ur firmwares r the best but i thing there is one thing that surpasses ur firmware’s greatness and thats ur friendly and cool tempered behaviour. and i think u should ignore sarcosm posts or remove them.
    i wanna have only i thing and that is the lowest brightness display like in nokia 5233 to improve battery backup.thanks.love u

  14. Hi, try to implement SPB Mobile Shell, if it’s possible. Btw, couple of things are most important, battery enhancement, photo/video recording (picture quality and audio-video synch. with high frame rate), possibility of setting of camera (pre-autofocus ON/OFF, micropohone sensitivity,etc.)

Hey there, I was just wondering if you had the chance to look at how to implement romanian language?Because on i8910 forums it seems there is no more activity on that topic. 🙂 Imho, I think most of us use spb mobile so I don’t think the original homescreen is that important . Anyway, you’re doing a great job and I appreciate your work. And good luck with your studies 😉

    mi piacerebbe vedere il salvataggio della foto immediato come succede con il PAN FIXFOCUS..ne parlavamo con JINED,ricordi? si eviterebbe il “mosso”..in piu’ eviterei di “sovraccaricarla” di applicazioni e HS..chi le vuol aggiungere le aggiunge..!una curiosita’:dove e’ NASCOSTO il file della suoneria SAMSUNG TUNE.MP3 MODIFICATA sulla n203?mi piacerebbe sapere che canzone e’ in origine..e cmq anche il pezzetto breve lo copierei sul PC..grazie e complimenti..come sempre! 😉

  20. Nice fireware but you need put all localization in the rom
    and you put the 3D multitask in the fireware (but with your couse of you wont it on or not)
    scrolling music player can much beter

    and the rest it verry good

    why should I put localizations into the firmware? that of language packs is one of the best ideas I ever had 🙂

    Anyway my friend, back to topic What i like about N203 is:

    1) Stability (first priority).
    2) Not overcooked.
    3) Speedy enough.

    What i like to see changed:

    Well is it possible if you can combine ‘Samsung’ and ‘Tools’ folder together, coz at times im tired i forget where things are and keep searching for whether they are in ‘Samsung’, ‘Office’, or ‘Tools’, and keep doing happy laps lol.

    What i wish for in the next:

    1) To have Samsung barcode scanner back, needed it at times.
    2) Rename ‘Samsung LBS’ to ‘GPS’ ( Dont know if possible to implement, but Samsungs naming conventions are confusing).
    3) Any other ‘Faenil magic’ you have in store for us :mrgreen:

    you know I have the same problem with the folders? I never got used to MY folders xD
    1) are you talking about SmartReader? You can install it with a sis 🙂
    2) This would require to modify all language files…. I don’t know 🙁

    So far n2o3 is the best out there (IMHO), nothing more to ask for, but maybe:
    1) Tsunami home screen
    2) Have you seen the other cooker’s “Patcher-App”? Could you also implement that sort of application? I think it’s kinda useful…
    3) i8510 codec (does that really improve the photos???)
    4) New 3D menu icons.
    5) More time for family, girlfriend and most of all…yourself.

    Thank you very much mio amico for n2o3 (although the other day I tried the other cooker’s new FW release 😳 , it’s unstable and lagging most of the times)

    Finaly you came back. I think you throw away your I8910. 🙁
    sorry for my bad english:
    I used n2o3 till 3 days ago that HX-V7 released. It’s so good. but you have to do a great and new job to compet

    it.
    – a video player which plays all video formats (mpeg-h264,…)

    – The default keyboard is too bad specialy in contacts. My language is Farsi (Persian) and I currently use dayhand

    keyboard whit a great Farsi layout. but dayhand doesen’t run every where and some times in some applications it

    doesn’t apear and I have to change to default. one of these apps is “UNIDIC EN-FA” dictionary

    – solve old problems pleaseeeeeeeeeee: Call recording, ability to use Answering machines , ability to play sound

    during call for the other side (CallCheater)

    – Voice Dialing
    – Problem on using many Antitheft softwares (many of them can’t use internal gps-I found Guardian and another

    one from total killer that works but there are more apps that are much better and we can’t use)

    – I couldn’t use Nokia Maps on n2o3 but on HX-V7 nokia maps works great.
    – Integrate some applications like “content pack in HX-V4” include: trackID, Nokia Map, ROMPatcher, Google

    Maps, Browser, BT Reciever, latest Adobe PDF, opera …
    I know you can’t insert non-free apps.

    – Support all S60V5 games and those from Nokia OVI store. they are common but doesn’t run on our device.

    Some suggestions that other people said too:
    – tsunami home screen
    – auto-focusing by recording video

    Hope you’re well. Loved the reply to the first comment. Class.
    Still using n2o3 as nothing’s tempted me away elsewhere. The stability and usability is fantastic and 3rd party app’s never cause issues with it.
    One thing I’d like is an inbuilt animated wallpaper. Ideally the Android one as seen on the forum. To have this inbuilt would be amazing.
    Make sure you keep the work/life balance and take time for yourself.

    yeh animated wallpaper are a key point to me 😉

    Secondo me quello che servirebbe è un programma per la gestione della batteria e MHz cpu (qualcosa di simile all’app di Hyperx nella V6 speed)visto che quello che molti cercano su questo terminale è una maggiore autonomia senza perdere in prestazioni.
    Per il resto la N2O3 era già apposto secondo me.

    As for the new firmwares, i think it would be best if you made like 2 different firmwares.

    In the 1st one you could try out all those crazy fancy ideas which unfortunately make the phone less stable, but are great and fun to have.

    And the 2nd could be like n2o3, but updated with the newest codecs and tweaks etc. And stable as a rock! I’ve run it for some time now and i must say, it is the best and most stable firmware i have ever had 🙂 It’s fun to try new features, but i still want to use my phone and not have it fail on me when i need it.

  31. Gentilissimo Faenil, ora come ora penso che il nostro I8910 sia quasi perfetto, ma, secondo me, almeno un’aspetto è stato un po ignorato: la tastiera in verticale.
    La Dayhandimput gigante in parte risolve i problemi di digitazione, ma, sempre IMHO, lavorandoci un poco (per chi sa farlo) potrebbe migliorarne la fruibilità, velocità nonchè la precisione durante la digitazione.
    In ogni caso grazie per il lavoro che stai facendo.

  32. ciao, sai una cosa che mi piacerebbe? se è possibile l’autofocus continuo come nel vivaz e poi inserito naturalmente nativamente il remind-me, x me l’applicazione più utile sulla faccia della terra!!!!

    anche a me piacerebbe l’autofocus continuo, purtroppo non sono mai ancora riuscito a farlo andare 🙁
    per remind-me, non è gratis, non posso includerlo…

  33. Allora già la n2o3 è un’ottima rom…ecco cosa cambierei:
    -codec jpeg del i8510,
    -ovi mappe 3.04 (l ultima versione è stata modificata per farla funzionare…non la beta di cui parlavi qualche mesetto fa) integrato,
    -e se è possibile mettere la tasiera come quella che la nokia ha implementato ultimamente che quando il cell è in landsape mostra la qwerty e quando in verticale la ABC,
    -tema di default UNIVERSAL (lo adoro),
    – cambiare programmi di default per file tramite NokiaFileBrowser.
    -patch per i 600mhz (sempre se puoi)

    la mia n2o3 ha già alcune di questa modifiche ma sarebbe ottimo poterle avere tutte insieme in una n2o4 ancora più veloce e stabile!!!

    ovimaps si può installare tranquillamente, perchè includerlo…il codec i8510 non è il migliore a detta di molti…
    tastiera verticale, non ho idea di come metterla ma il problema lo tengo presente 😉
    NokiaFilebrowser, non serve la rom, è il programma che ti permette di fare quei cambiamenti e nella n2o3 c’è già
    600mhz, nah…vedi migliorie per 50mhz? 🙂

    Here are some suggestions for the new fw:

    1. Some patch to improve battery.
    2. Android homescreen or like that of the SPB shell.
    3. Integrated superkool widgets 😎 .
    4. Must include some tool like the hxpatcher from v7 that lets you customize on the fly 😀 .
    5. Must be fast and stable like a … as stable as can be without any bugs. Test it many days by various people 🙂 .

    Thats about it. Plus can you provide some tool to flash firmwares in Windows 7 64bit- without virtual xp or nethin. It would be extremely helpful.

    Now I am on N2O3 FW. It look better than HX V7 by the followings:
    – Battery life
    – Camera quality
    – Speed
    – Stability

    If possible, could you give some patch for:
    – Call recorder
    – Auto answer
    (Now the above applications was not working on I8910)

    Please don not overlook CPU
    Cheer

    I’m looking for a solution to the call recorder 😉
    Auto answer…isn’t it possible on i8910? 😐

    although I’m currently on the HX7-15 I have to submit that ur N2O3 is an awsome work :mrgreen: . It’s fast like hell ‘n bug free. It was a really amazing experience after the HX3 and 4 and 5 stuff I all tried out. However curious as I am i tried out the HX6 speed and switched now to the 7-15 specifically because of the (and thats what I’d recommend for ur next FW)
    – considerably improved battery live. I really experienced with all FWs I used before that after 2 days battery is almost done. I tried out all recommended actions in due course, but nothing was as effective as the new HX firmwares. It allows a charge free 4-5 days use.
    – Something like the HX patcher which allows easy manipulating things like KS settings

    Otherwise keep on going as u do since ur work is and ur way 2 treat offensive mails simply great. Others could learn a lot from u.

    1) about battery life, I have no ideas at the moment, but my battery lasts 6-7days with low usage on n2o3….I think that is good…
    2) hx patcher is very useful…but I don’t think I will have time to make something like that…

  39. Ciao faenil, I think that the n2o3 firmware is pretty much perfect as it is, to the point that I never had the desire to try any other firmware since I installed it (and no, this is not lipservice 😉 I just think it’s the most stable and fast fw around).
    That said, I’d like to be able to manually customize the standard system sounds, kastors and themes without the need to unpack and re-cook the firmware myself or using c2z and the likes. Do you think that you can find a way to move those files from Z to E or something?
    Other than that, yea I think that importing a decent music player from other nokia or SEricsson phones would be a good idea too.
    Al solito, ti consiglio di non appesantirlo con programmi di terze parti: ce li possiamo installare da soli 😛

  41. Ciao Andrea, essendo italiano come me, preferisco sciverti allora in italiano in modo da ovviare ai dubbi di interpretazione che erano sorti nel mio precedente commento… 🙄
    Io intendevo proporti una mano (ove possibile)per quanto riguardava la parte di integrazione dello stack VOIP sul nostro OMNIA, in modo da ovviare ai noti problemi con skype, tanto più ora che è sorta la disputa con fring.

    Continua così..sei un grande!!!!!

    Your Firmware is very good and i find it very stable!!!

    The Only 2 things i think could be added or changed for me are the followings:

    1) i8510 codec as i try with an other firmware lately…don’t need to say which one…you know already but on my laptop screen, the quality seems sharper to me…maybe it’s just me…

    2) As i wrote you some time ago, add FLAC support to the music player…i know it’s not easy ’cause when i looked myself into it i saw i didn’t have enougth knoledge for that but there is a rom with it. The Vanilla Rom soooo if you could do that it would be amazing!!! The sound with Flac files is just excellent!!!

    Thanks again for your great job and don’t forget your studies!!! More important than cooking!!!

  43. Hi. I want threaded sms. as defualt. why cant anyone make a good prog that works? fucking hx ppl just made a app that dont work as defualt, when you receive a sms it goes back to orginal inbox. if you can make that work you will have me 4 ever 🙂

  44. Ciao un ottimo lavoro la tua n2.03, potresti implementare dalla rom originale l’applicazione “DOWNOALD” in modo da aggiornarla alla “SAMSUNG APPS”, credo che essendoci data una risorsa del genere bisognerebbe sfruttarla e non eliminarla 😉

    eheheh ovviamente se ci fosse stata non l’avrei tolta 🙂 il problema è che la versione presente nella JD1 è buggata, e da un errore quando si prova ad aprire la pagina di una applicazione…fa vedere solo il pulsante download e non l’immagine… sarebbe meglio di niente, ma bisogna vedere se sono tutti d’accordo, farò un sondaggio tra qualche giorno 😉

    le fotnn mi vengono piu mosse manco una xd.

    Is it possible to make the Conversations App load on Bootup. So as to not relaunch it everytime you reboot the phone. I know it’s a three second inconvenience but just wondering if that were possible.

  48. I also noticed on the forum people are manually changing the cache for Internet Browsing. Personally I haven’t done it myself but is that something you currently implement on your CFW or we should manually change it ourselves as we see fit?

    a car mode would still be nice.. I mean a mode where all calls (incoming and outgoing) are on loudspeaker. so we don’t need bluetooth and can save a lot of energy (batterylife). and even driving would be more secure.
