Trying to make you happy, with ovimaps

I’m working on ovimaps 3.06 today, I’ll spend 2-3 hours on it (got to work on a university database project in the afternoon), I hope to reach a newer point 🙂

  1. Thank you very very very very much for your work, faenil. I’d suggest only a little thing if it is possible for the next n20x release: it’s possible to change the default system sounds as, for i.e., the sounds of CiCi firmware? It was less invasive 🙂

    I’ve tried to change the background with live wallpaper, but when I do it, the bottom buttons disappear, help.

  10. Fenil, I have a one wonderfull idle to improve a battery life:) Can you set a idle frequency to 160MHz and the normal one jut to 550MHz,because with this settines a mobile phone take one day longer.
    It will be the best if the phone will work fast and smoth,when you need it. But when you just calling or waiting for calls that the phone use the less power like low frequency,put application in standy and use only memory for receiving sms and calls. Will be this possible?

    1. I’d prefer cpu settings left at default on CFW’s and use Hxpatcher to adjust to my preference 600/700/800mhz personally 🙂 i get fantastic battery life after retraining vbatt.

      Qt non è un linguaggio di per sè, qt si basa sul linguaggio di sistema, tutte le cose che fai in qt, sono funzioni che riassumono funzioni più difficili scritte in SymbianC++ nel nostro caso 🙂

      Dunque, per avere funzioni che usano il multitouch in Qt, devi avere funzioni che possono usare il multitouch in SymbianC++ attraverso chiamate di sistema, cosa che non abbiamo in S^1 🙂

      Il multitouch non arriva su Ubuntu grazie alle Qt, arriva su Ubuntu perchè hanno aggiunto il supporto al multitouch in XInput 😉

      Poi con Qt hanno scritto alcuni esempi per far vedere che funziona 🙂
      Se non avessero aggiungo il supporto multitouch in XInput, Qt non poteva fare niente 🙂

        1. ah su DM cè una mod x chiudere le app k rimangono aperto in background qnd fai exit dal menu(contacts, logs..) e cè un file da modificare x fare in modo k nn rimagono aperte, sarebbe una tweak in piu x n205

    i have kasper mobile security & it’s not installing on n204 because my phone model is samsung i8910 HD
    but in HX firmware i can change my phone model to nokia x6 or n97 & i can install any apps
    do u have any solution for this problem

      1. F**K shit… you know my in my country Nokia has the 2nd highest sales in the world and Look how Nokia responds… No Ovi maps…..

        Sorry but that unlucky country is Pakistan…

  21. Could you kindly use the Bluespectrum homescreen by andre? I really do like it, but have never got round to setting it up right on my phone. Thanks for all the good work, its not going in vain

Another thing, reading through the comments from time to time, i notice far too many users requesting for apps mistakenly that do specific tasks (say blacklist) and request it on your next custom rom instead of actual firmware mods. Is it therefore possible to put up a section of (your) best software that run nativly on the i8910 so users can purchase or download them and thus maximise their phone’s potential? Just a thought.

    1. its a very bad idea… I think he should concentrate more on Modding stuff….

      You want even softwares delivered to u at ur service… atleast do some efforts urself….

        1. We’re lucky as it is that faenil is such a nice guy to take a lot of time out of his busy life to help us i8910 owners, especially now he owns an N8! There are excellent forums and facebook groups on i8910 that would be more suited to your needs. I would think Faenil got enough to do 🙂 ttpod is a MUST btw 🙂

  27. Is it possible to have a patch so you can use a live homescreen with the samsungtoolbar.mif but only have the icons not the top bar, if that makes sense. Like with hx v11 you can use bluespectrum with the samsung toolbar at the bottom and the bluespectrum topbar. I know this effects the other homescreen themes but i only like to use the bluespectrum homescreen anyway.

  29. Don’t worry about the kastor effects too much, mate, as I usually turn off any effects. What the phone does is more important than how it gets there anyway. 🙂

    PS. I use Route 66 for my navigation as is much more efficient I’ve found. But good to see you working hard for those who do use Ovimaps. Your the man!! 😀
